Before and after results

Five things to check in any before and after photo

This applies to our photographs and to every other clinic you are comparing us with. If a gallery fails these checks, it is marketing rather than evidence.

1. Same light, same lens, same distance

   Warm light and a longer lens flatter a face. If the second photograph is lit differently or shot from a different distance, part of what you are seeing is the camera, not the surgery.

2. Same pose and expression

   A relaxed jaw and a smile change the lower face more than some procedures do. Compare photographs where the person is doing the same thing with their face.

3. Same clothing and makeup

   A clinical gown next to styled hair and makeup is not a comparison of a surgical result. It is a comparison of two different days.

4. How long after surgery

   Swelling can flatter or spoil a result depending on the procedure and the week. A photograph is only meaningful with the interval stated: six weeks and twelve months are different claims.

5. One person is one outcome

   Any single pair shows what happened to one body with one anatomy. It is evidence that a result is possible, never that it is likely for you.
