Dr. Halit is an independent surgeon, not an employee of Istanbul European Clinic. We coordinate consultations, travel and interpretation; all clinical decisions and the procedure itself are theirs, at their own clinic or an accredited hospital.
Background
Dr. Halit Özhisar is an experienced ophthalmologist and eye surgeon with more than two and a half decades of clinical and surgical practice. He earned his medical degree from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1995 and completed his specialty training in Ophthalmology in 2001.
Throughout his career he has practised at several established eye and general hospitals in Turkey, with a clinical focus on refractive laser surgery, cataract surgery, and the medical and surgical management of eye diseases.
Dr. Halit Özhisar has practised at several established hospitals in Turkey across both public and private healthcare, including Veni Vidi Eye Center (Bakırköy and Ataşehir branches), Liv Hospital Vadistanbul, and Kurtköy Ersoy Hospital. He currently practises independently as an ophthalmologist in Istanbul and continues to perform surgical procedures at established partner hospitals.
Clinical focus
- Laser refractive surgery (LASIK, No-Touch laser, PRK and other modern techniques) for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, and cataract surgery including premium intraocular lenses (multifocal, trifocal and smart IOLs)
- Keratoconus diagnosis and management, and corneal transplantation
- Glaucoma (medical and surgical management), retinal diseases, strabismus (eye misalignment) and amblyopia (lazy eye), and dry eye and lacrimal (tear) duct disorders
